This New York vacation rental is perfect for any trip to New York City. The Natural History Museum Suite is a comfortable, one bedroom, 2 room apartment that sleeps up to 4 people right by main attractions of New York – located in Upper West Side, one block away from world famous Museum of Natural History and 2 blocks from Central Park. The apartment is comfortable and cozy with all the amenities necessary for a great stay in New York. The location is absolutely amazing! If you want to stay in New York and live like a New Yorker and not like a tourist, this apartment is for you. This is one of the best neighborhoods to fully experience New York.

The Natural History Museum Suite and the other apartments managed by our company are the only environmentally-friendly serviced apartments in New York. We are trying to have as little impact on environment as possible – the apartment is not perfect yet but it is getting there. We are using only eco-friendly cleaning supplies and recycled materials for all the paper and glass that we use in the apartment. We have signed a special contract with the electric company to ensure that we use only electricity generated by wind and water – it costs a little more but we think it is worth it. We also try to use as much recyclable materials as possible. Nowadays everyone has to be thinking about the impact on our planet, and it’s the little things like this that start to make a difference. The Natural History Museum Suite is very comfortable and will have everything that you will need during your stay. The ceilings are high and the apartment has this large monumental feel to it – typical of the Upper West Side. The apartment has a cozy, good sized bedroom with great closet space and a queen size bed. There is also a night stand in the bedroom as well as a large wardrobe. The living room has a pull out sofa bed that can sleep up to 2 people as well as an armchair and cable TV with International channels. The living room also has beautiful authentic wooden shelves – something you d o not find too often in New York apartments. The apartment also comes with free high-speed Internet access. The kitchen is just the right size and has a stove, all the pots and pans and cutlery that you will need to cook your own meals. It is also arranged in such a way that everything is in your reach and you have counter space which is quite rare on Manhattan. Considering the apartment location and the amenities, the apartment is one of the best apartments in our database in terms of value for money. We hope to see you in New York!

Upper West Side, Manhattan
A major appeal of the Upper West Side is its proximity to Central Park, which runs for 50 city blocks from 59th to 110th Street and encompasses 843 acres, and to Riverside Park, whose western border starts at 72nd street and extends into Upper Manhattan. Most streets are tree lined and quiet where you will find brownstones, townhouses and pre-war buildings. Modern high-rises are usually found on the avenues. Central Park is an oasis of green in the middle of New York City with over 800 acres of scenic views, playgrounds and ponds. It´s a great place if you want to take a break from the busy city. There are bike and jogging trails, athletic fields, and a Boathouse. You can even find a skating rink. A haven for Rollerbladers, dog lovers, joggers, and cyclists, Central Park also offers entertainment and activities year-round for children and adults. During the summer, Shakespeare is performed in the Delacorte Theater and free events occur all summer long at the Central Park Summer-stage. Lincoln Center, located at West 62nd through West 66th streets is the country´s foremost performing arts center, offering live orchestral music, ballet, opera, and theater, and is home to the New York Ballet Company and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. It is also home to the New York State Theater, the New York City Opera, the Metropolitan Opera House, Avery Fisher Hall, the Vivian Beaumont Theater, Jazz At Lincoln Center, the Library and Museum of the Performing Arts, Alice Tully Hall for chamber music, and the world-famous Julliard School of Music. The Walter Reade Theater is the home of the center´s film society. Its central plaza is the focus of summer outdoor performances of all kinds and dance nights. In the area surrounding the museum, buildings and homes are being restored, refurbished, and renovated, and old residences are giving way to brand-new apartment towers.

Apartment surroundings
The Natural History Museum Suite is located on a great block right in the middle of New York City, just two blocks away from world famous Central Park and the Museum of Natural History – one of New York’s most famous landmarks. The Museum of Natural History is easily recognisable from the movie with Ben Stiller “Night in the Museum” – that’s where it takes place. It is the most interesting and interactive museum in New York, but make sure to take the whole day to see the exhibits – you will be so excited, you won’t notice the day go by! This museum is huge with halls that can interest anyone as well as special exhibitions and a planetarium. It also has world’s largest dinosaur – an absolute must-see!

Central Park is a large park in the middle of New York – absolutely amazing! There are so many things to do there, you might as well not leave the area at all. Especially if you have kids – this area is definitely best for you! Couple things that everyone loves to do in Central Park – picnicking, ice skating (in winter), visiting the Zoo (the entrance is on 64th Street on the East Side), jogging and just enjoying the nature. There are also tons of excursions in Central Park, some featuring those landmarks in the park where famous movies were filmed. The movies include “Serendipity”, “Ghostbusters”, “Enchanted”, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Home Alone 2”. You can also rent bicycles at Columbus Circle and just ride around the park on your own and enjoy the nature!

The apartment is located between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway. Broadway is an amazing street with seating areas, green zones and lots of entertainment! Right around your apartment on Broadway you will find clothing stores, banks and specialty stores.
There is a New York Sports Club gym right next to your apartment on Broadway between 79th and 80th Street. Sovereign Bank is between 81st and 82nd streets. Liquor store and Starbucks are between 80th and 81st Streets. On the corner on 80th and Broadway you will find one of the most unique grocery stores in the city – Zabar’s. A lot of New Yorkers go there to make a basket of fresh artisanal breads and cheeses and head out to Central Park for picnic. There are all sorts of food there for your every day needs as well as specialty cheeses, meats and breads – all extremely delicious and most made on site!

The apartment is located on a quiet and peaceful block – how it works in this area is that streets are quiet, but avenues are bustling. So you have everything happening around you without the noise of bars and traffic like it is in Midtown or Downtown Manhattan. Staying in this apartment will give you a truly New York experience. Columbus Circle which is beautiful at night is about 20 minute walk away, it is also where the largest Marathon in the US – the New York Marathon has its finish line. If you want to get to Midtown to visit Times Square or Empire State Building, you can choose from three trains to take you there – 1 train on 79th and Broadway (right next to you apartment) or B and C trains next to Museum of Natural History. You will be at Times Square in about 10 minutes. Beautiful Lincoln Center is also just a 15 minute walk away – that is where world-famous Metropolitan Opera and American Ballet performances take place. Make sure to visit!

There are tons of different restaurants and bars around the apartment, mostly on Amsterdam Avenue – Chinese, Indian, Italian, Mexican, South African, Japanese – are only a few of the cuisines available within a 3 minute walk from the apartment. You will be amazed by how many New Yorkers love to sit at the tables outside these restaurants after a day at work. The restaurants and bars on Amsterdam Avenue include an Irish pub, the Amsterdam Diner, Jyn Myll, Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, Mc Aleen’s pub on the cheaper end and The Tangled Vine (wine restarant), Tolani (wine restaurant with fusion cuisine – their Malva pudding and peri-peri prawns are an absolute must to try!), Haru Sushi, Jake’s Dilemma, Thai Nam, Sarabeth’s, Monaco – on the more upscale end and more appropriate for dinner - just to name a few within 3 minutes walk from the apartment. On Amsterdam Avenue between 79th and 80th are also located Al Dente (Italian restaurant), Saravanaa (Indian Vegetarian), next door to it Sugavat (Indian, non-vegetarian), across from it Savann with $16.95 prix fix lunches and Bettola. You also have some fast food restaurants that have pizza, burritos , sandwiches and burgers – so everyone gets what they like according to their taste and you won’t stay hungry for sure!

There is another gym – Equinox – on 77th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. On the corner of 79th Street and Amsterdam Avenue (right on your block) one can find a Duane Reade pharmacy (a store from the biggest pharmacy chain in the city of New York) where you can buy pretty much anything that you might need (including food). All the pharmacies in the US sell a lot of different foods, cosmetics, household supplies. Usually pharmacies are like miniature supermarkets with a prescription counter. There are also two Laundromats on 80th Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway.

The Port Authority bus terminal is a 10 minute subway ride from the apartment – you can catch a bus from the airport right there at any time. You will probably prefer to catch one of New York’s inexpensive yellow cabs from the bus terminal to the apartment if you have a lot of bags. The ride should cost you about $10-15 depending on traffic. So basically, you do not need a metro card when staying at this location – just walk, enjoy the weather, views and shopping.

The apartment is conveniently located by several different subway lines – 1, B, C – all going to different places in the city, so you will have the easiest commute from there to anywhere! You can enter the subway at 79th Street and Amsterdam Avenue (for 1 train), or at 81st Street and Central Park West (for B, C trains).

• If the booking is cancelled more than 21 days before arrival date, the Hospitality Provider will charge a $50 processing fee
• If the booking is cancelled 21-14 days before arrival date the Hospitality Provider will charge a cancellation fee equal to 30% of the booking
• If the booking is cancelled 14-7 days before arrival date the Hospitality Provider will charge a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the booking
• If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival date the booking will be non-refundable

A cancellation fee equal to 100% of accommodation price per apartment booked will also be applied if the USER moves out of the apartment before the USER's reserved departure time.

If booking is less than 5 days 100% prepayment is necessary to reserve. If booking is 5 days or more 50% prepayment is necessary to reserve.

Please note that the bookings for Easter (1-10 April 2012) and Christmas season (21 December - 3 January) will be non-refundable. The rate per night will be 80 USD extra for this period.
