New York City has three main airports to choose from and a conveniently located heliport in downtown Manhattan. Each year, millions of people pass through these New York City airports and heliport on their way to and from the NYC area.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
Known simply as “JFK”, the airport is located in Queens (at the south end of the Van Wyck Expressway) approximately 15 miles southeast of midtown Manhattan. When traffic is flowing well it takes about 30-45 minutes by car. JFK is the biggest of the New York airports and handles domestic and international flights.

A varied selection of ground transportation services is available at the John F. Kennedy International Airport, for business and leisure travelers alike. In front of all nine terminals, taxi service is offered. For information and reservations for buses, shared-ride vans and limousines, go to the ground transportation Information counters, located on the lower baggage claim level of all the terminals. Signs showing directions to the parking facilities are color coded to point out their location. Car Rental companies are available at the airport with courtesy shuttles at AirTrain Station C - Federal Circle.

LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
“LaGuardia”, is located on the northern shore of Queens (on the Grand Central Parkway), is 9 miles from midtown Manhattan and mainly handles domestic flights, Canada and the Caribbean. It is named after Fiorello LaGuardia, the former mayor of New York. It is the smallest of New York's thee major commercial airports. LaGuardia is accessible by the rand Central Parkway, local highways, a ferry from Manhattan and by helicopter and seaplane.

Newark International Airport (EWR)
“Newark”, in Newark, New Jersey, is located south of Newark on Newark Bay and handles both domestic and international flights. It is the fifth busiest international air gateway into the U.S. handling about 30 million passengers a year. It is relatively close to Manhattan - approximately 16 miles southwest from midtown Manhattan and is especially convenient from and to the west side of Manhattan. Newark airport is accessible from the New Jersey Turnpike Exits 13A and 14 and from U.S. Routes 1 & 9 and I-78. It is 3 miles south of Newark, New Jersey and is quite convenient for passengers continuing on by car to the north or south (via the New Jersey Turnpike) or the west on Rt. 78.
